It’s not news that Austin, Texas is home to many great local spots. It’s one of the reasons so many creative souls are drawn to this city, because they feel like it’s a place that nurtures that kind of entrepreneurship without a lot of the dog-eat-dog world mentality. I’ve lived in four places here in Texas, and Austin certainly stands alone.

I met Rodrigo through a mutual friend and he’s been a pleasure to work with. Monkies had just moved to an exiciting location on the Drag  when we started to talk photos, and it’s been a blast working with Divinity Veloz who has styled each one of the shoots. I’m a sucker for a good vintage shop, as nostalgia has always gotten the better of me. Great ones are not easy to find, as so many will have prices that make it really hard to shop. The abundance of cheap vintage shops was one of the few things I miss about living in San Antonio (and those AMAZING museums!), but Monkies is absolutely fantastic. They’ve got a great eye for finding pieces that are funky, fun, and timeless. It’s more than worth checking out. Also, it’s great to #shoplocal !
